Property Tax Relief Program

The COVID-19 pandemic and corresponding economic turbulence has created economic hardship for many in Portage County.

In response, our office is proud to announce a partnership with the Community Action Council of Portage County, Inc. aimed at helping residents pay taxes and remain in their homes. 

Community Action Council Utility Assistance Plus Grant Program

  • Funds Available: Up to $10,000/applicant (total aid).
  • Income Limit: <150% of the highest Ohio county median income (~$147,000/year for a family of four), with a preference for applicants 55 years of age and greater.
  • Permitted Use: Payment of property taxes, plus utilities, home insurance, and HOA fees.

Applicants must apply online at www.cacportage.net (under "Home Relief Programs" graphic), and provide required documentation. Documentation can also be submitted via drop-off at 1036 W. Main St., Ravenna, OH 44266. Applications will be accepted through June 30, 2024, or until program funds are expended.
