DISTRICT LIBRARY’S PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2027 TAX BUDGET

The Portage County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider the adoption of the Portage County District Library’s Proposed Fiscal Year 2027 Tax Budget

on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 9:00 AM.  Beginning June 18, 2026, copies of the proposed Tax Budget will be available for viewing at the Commissioners’ Office and the County Auditor’s Office, located at the Portage County Administration Building, 449 South Meridian Street, Ravenna from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM and on the County’s website at

NOTICE OF SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING

Notice is hereby given that the Portage County Board of Commissioners will be holding a Special Public Meeting on the designation of Mantua, Hiram, Nelson, Freedom, Paris, Rootstown, Randolph and Atwater Townships as restricted areas in accordance with Section 303.58 of the Ohio Revised Code (“ORC”) to prohibit the construction of economically significant wind farms, large wind farms, and large solar facilities, as defined in ORC 303.57, ORC 4906.13, and ORC 4906.01. Said Public Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the Emergency Management Agency, Emergency Operation Center, 2978 State Route 59 in Ravenna.

SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE

A special meeting of the Portage County 9-1-1 Program Review Committee will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the Portage County Emergency Management Agency located at 2978 State Route 59, Ravenna.  The purpose of the special meeting is to discuss and consider the purchase of Telex Radio Equipment for mobile dispatch capabilities as well as other general business of the committee.  Questions can be directed to Daniel T. LEGAL NOTICE

In accordance with Ohio Revised Code (ORC) Section 3113.35, the Portage County Board of Commissioners will accept applications for the release of funds to be collected in 2026 as fees for the issuance of marriage licenses pursuant to Section 3113.34 or fees as additional costs in annulment, divorce, or dissolution of marriage actions and proceedings pursuant to division (D) of section 2303.201 of the Revised Code. These fees are to be used for the funding of a shelter for victims of domestic violence. The shelter must be located in Portage County and serve the population of Portage County.  All applications for funds shall be submitted to the Portage County Board of Commissioners at 449 South Meridian Street, Ravenna, Ohio 44266 by Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in accordance with the requirements of ORC Section 3113.35.
