Off-Duty Deputy Requests
The Portage County Sheriff’s Office is always honored to provide off-duty law enforcement deputies and cruisers for you and your business when requested. We utilize a system, Detail Kommander, to help us further improve the off-duty services we provide you and to increase our efficiency when managing your requests. This service also offers you, our community business partners, several features and benefits that are available from your internet-connected computer, tablet or smartphone.

Electronic Payment Process
Detail Kommander provides the opportunity for you to enter a bank account, credit or debit card so you can pay for off-duty deputies without having to spend the time to write a check. Paying electronically streamlines the process and provides you with an easy way to keep track of the payments you make for off-duty services. The software ensures you receive a written estimate prior to your event and a receipt of your paid invoice once your event is finished, then electronically distributes your payment to our deputies and agency. The merchant of record on your credit card or banking statements will be DetailKommander.com or Kommander Software, LLC.
Deputy Status Updates
Once your event is scheduled, you can login to Detail Kommander to view which deputy is assigned to your off-duty detail.
Information Available Anytime
With a couple of mouse clicks, you can retrieve any and all records of any events you hired off-duty deputies for, how much you paid, and what events you have scheduled. Need to hire another deputy? You can make your request right in the software. Do you frequently hire deputies for the same type of job or event? A simple “clone” function in the software makes it quick and easy to duplicate the request for a new date and time.
Budget Friendly
The software system is funded by applying a small service fee to off-duty details. The system is available to you 24/7 to access all of your records and events at no additional cost. When a business or individual hires a deputy, the service fee is added to the total event cost and is itemized on the invoice for your reference.
Secure Financial Data
To ensure the highest level of data security, Detail Kommander does not store any financial data on their servers. All credit card or banking information entered by users is passed directly through to appropriate third-party financial institutions by securely tokenizing the information, meaning the financial information never touches their servers.
1099 Tax Reporting
Detail Kommander keeps track of the off-duty detail earnings for all of our deputies and provides them with a 1099K during tax season. This service is taken care of at no cost to you.
