Natural Areas Specialist
Seasonal position: 40 hours per week, for up to 1,000 hours in the season

Salary Range begins at $12.00/hour - pay rate commensurate with experience 

This is a seasonal, skilled position within the Park District which performs in all areas of the Natural Areas stewardship program, including but not limited to: natural resource management, monitoring, protection, and inventory, as well as invasive plant control, mapping, equipment maintenance, cleaning and other duties necessary for the stewardship of natural areas.

Maintenance Worker II
Full-time: Salary Range begins at $15.50/hour - pay rate commensurate with experience 
This is a semi-skilled and skilled position within the Park District which performs in all areas of the operations department, including but not limited to: grounds keeping, equipment maintenance, mowing, trail trimming and maintenance, minor construction and repairs, painting, cleaning, landscaping, litter removal, herbicide application, and other duties necessary for the upkeep of the park and its facilities.

Service Learning:
Schools and organizations partner with the Park District to provide valuable volunteer service while learning important skills and knowledge. Classes and interns from the areas of Biology, Geography, Business, Public Relations and Recreation Management have worked on a variety of projects to enhance the value of Portage Parks.
